Calvary Baptist Church

Every strong church must be centered around the Lord Jesus and be grounded in the essential truths of GOD's Word. While we may take a conservative approach to worship we always aim to be a Christ centered, GOD honouring church and we aim to teach clearly from the Word of GOD.

The Pastor and his wife

Pastor Dean Carter and his wife Lupe have been attending Calvary Baptist Church since 1990.

"Lupe and I have been attending Calvary Baptist Church since 1990 and we have a sincere passion for seeing souls saved for Christ. Following my ordination in 2014 we took over full time ministry at Calvary. We are so grateful for the increased opportunities the LORD has given us over the years to serve Him and for calling us into the ministry. Our greatest desire now is to see new converts coming to know Christ and to see born-again believers growing deeper in their faith and walk with their LORD."

Our Sunday Services

We believe every born-again follower of Christ ought to be faithfully attending a local church each week. We meet twice on Sundays @ 10am and 6pm to worship the LORD and each of our Sunday services are an hour long. These services include a sermon, hymn singing and opportunities for giving praise and prayer. We also like to have a coffee after the morning worship service and after our evening service we are able to share free bread that has been kindly donated by a local baker.   

Tuvalu Services

The Tauranga Tuvalu Christian Church hold their weekly worship service at 1:00pm every Sunday at the church. This fellowship is specifically for those speaking Tuvaluan.

Wednesday Prayer Meeting

1 Thessalonians 5:17 is very clear - pray without ceasing! We have a wonderful privilege to be able to meet midweek each week to pray collectively as a group. The prayer meeting is held every Wednesday evening @ 7:00pm and after some hymn singing and a short message from GOD's Word we spend what time we have left in corportate prayer. We welcome new people to our prayer group and we'd love to have you come and join us.   

Sunday School

We have a wonderfully dedicated group of believers committed to teaching the clear truths from the Word of GOD to children. Our Junior Church or Sunday School caters for all age groups and Junior church runs at the same time as the normal service times so that parents can enjoy the worship services while their children attend Junior Class.

If you are interested in your children joining one of our classes just simply come along to the church at any of our worship times.

Ladies Fellowship

Women’s ministry is a blessed opportunity for Christian women of all ages to connect and build relationships around God’s word and through a time of good Christian fellowship and fun. The ladies meet every second Thursday during school terms at 10:00am.
