Make 2016 a Year to Remember

John 14:12

I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father

Jesus said that if we believe Him we will do the same works He did. And then He added ‘and even greater works’! That statement is as perplexing as it is inspirational. Naturally no one would ever dare to assume that we could do greater things than our Lord. I doubt any of us will be walking on water anytime soon! But Jesus wasn't referring to that . . . He was referring to our doing the same works He did—and the works He did all pointed directly to GOD! In other words everything we do must point others to GOD too. That may sound like a pretty tough assignment—but in the same passage Jesus also promised to send the Advocate—the Holy Spirit. And it is actually the Holy Spirit who will be drawing attention to the Glory of GOD not us. We just need to remember that we are Christ’s representatives and that everything we do must bring Him Glory.
